Black and white political pets’ socially-engineered, religious hatred of the Confederacy is not enough—because hatred of myths is not enough. Following are five indisputable facts about slavery:
(1) Lincoln didn’t free any slaves.
Lincoln stated plainly and emphatically that his aim was not to free slaves but to preserve the Union (i.e. to prevent secession by the Confederacy)—and that he would gladly leave all slaves in bondage to do so. (Lincoln stated this in his widely-known, universally-accepted 1862 letter to Horace Greeley. It’s readily available online.)
(2) The North had slavery.
The North also coordinated with and benefited from slavery in the South. These are undisputed matters of fact. There was no “escaping to the North”: Harriet Tubman, the Underground Railroad, etc.—all just political pornography to glorify and glamorize the Union: all just myths.
(3) Lincoln’s “Emancipation Proclamation” was less than meaningless.
The proclamation “freed” the slaves of the South (the area over which Lincoln no longer had any authority), while expressly leaving in bondage all slaves in the North—the land over which Lincoln still had actual authority.
(4) The 13th amendment to the Constitution didn’t end slavery.
The 13th only consolidated all slaves to the government—restricting slavery to only punishment for a crime.
(5) All races in the land—black, white, and red—had slaves and slave-owners.
This is an undisputed matter of fact.
(6) Slavery was not as harsh as portrayed by mainstream myths.
No one—no matter how hatefully white—was interested in damaging their own property.
(7) Indentured servitude was almost always harsher than slavery.
No one—no matter how hatefully white—was more interested in preserving the health of someone they owned for only a limited time vs preserving the health of their property. Moreover, indentured servitude often became lifelong: the servant, treated usually harsher than the slave regardless the race of either, often died before paying off the indenture.
Today, the white supremacists of USA’s government and industry are addicted to misinformation and to masking in many ways the above readily-available historical facts—especially by providing glittery, hi-tech political megaphones to the most melodramatic, insincere, credulous, conniving, controlled blacks (and whites), who are willing and well-paid to parrot the provably false myths of mainstream Union-worship. Nevertheless, again: black and white political pets’ socially-engineered, religious hatred of the Confederacy is not enough—because hatred of myths is not enough.
