Marxism’s futility as the cause of Marxists’ aimlessness (an ongoing conversation)

Updated on 25 Oct., 2018

Starting at the true beginning of anything is impossible. So, following is a slice of an ongoing* argument between HM, an avowed life-long Marxist; and RL (the curator of the argument) who recognizes that the futility itself of Marxism is that which causes the hypocrisy, sloth, aimlessness, and intellectual cowardice of Marxism’s adherents.

*The argument will be updated as (i.e. if) it continues. The date at the top of the page.

Russ, what achievements these guys had in life beside writting two articles to ridicule themselves as a supporter and defender of reactionry corporate elite in the western countries? We have so many like them in Iran. You have to clarify yourself whither you are embedded reporter or unembeded one. All these writers are one way or other are betraying the oppressed, marginalized and deprived people. Ganuine patriotic individuals in any society cares about socia-political affairs of the society and does not side with the enemy of the masses, namely the one percent.

You are the only one through out my politicsl activity being so attached to the system that is so decadent and corrupt. There is no way that I could accept this view.

You have to read these great and genius philosophical works by chaiman Mao. These articles were the result of many years of actual revolutionary struggles. Even his enemies as president Ford back in 1976 when Mao past away made an statement. It was early in the morning and I was in my 1969 vw driving from SF to Berkley, radio stoped and president Ford said: “Chaiman Mao past away, he was great and remarkable man”.

You have got to familiarize yourself with the philosopgical concept of dialectical materialism, it is scientific and no body has ever been able to refute it. Even, the well known bourgeoisie logical positivist, Karl Popper in the 40s who denied the “credibility of dialectics” in his three volumes, Open Society and its Enemy” failed to refute Marx, why? He was a bourgeois philosopher tied to reactionary British Crown.

If you really want to know what I mean, I refer you to Mourice Cornfoth’s refutation of popper. I have the book. I can bring it for you to read it next time I’m around. In my opinion ganuine concrete knowledge can only be achieved through a long, protracted tedious struggles, there is no other way that any Marxist would know. Ganuine knowledge can never be achieved by reading books only. That is why all these academic professors write many books, but can never grasp the the roots of the concept, their writings are all based on their subjective minds and they are highly alien to every day suffering of the oppresed.

(1) “what achievements have these guys [Dinesh D’Souza and Ayn Rand] had in life beside writing two articles to ridicule themselves as a supporter and defender of reactionary corporate elite in the western countries?”

(a) Ayn Rand founded Objectivism,[1] merging the non-aggression principle, with free association, and anti-statism as well as anti-corporatism. Millions have purchased Rand’s books.[2] Virtually none of them will favor Corporatism, i.e. the corrupt cooperation of Big-Government Socialists granting personalized governmental favors for Big-Industry, preventing real Capitalism by preventing real competition.

(b) Dinesh D’Souza came to the USA in the 80’s, virtually penniless from India.[3] In addition to becoming a policy analyst for the Reagan administration[4] among others, D’Souza is an established author,[5] as well as a film director and producer,[6] whose film “2016: Obama’s America” is the highest-grossing conservative documentary of all time.[7] Moreover, the reception of D’Souza’s film “Hillary’s America” also set records,[8] thanks to the vote-by-dollar of those who oppose bourgeois neo-Marxist Socialists like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

(2) “Genuine patriotic individuals in any society do not side with the enemy of the masses, namely the one percent”

You are the %1 — in the USA, and certainly in the world. As D’Souza alludes to in the video which you, as I type this, are watching: one-percenters such as you invariably justify your own privileges and benefits by saying that you’re correctly using the privileges and benefits handed to you by the war-machines. You have consistently provided to me such justification of your own privileges and benefits. My point is not “you do not deserve what you have earned” — my point is that, in your Marxist moments, you are a hypocrite: despite your pretended faith in Marxist myths, still you know perfectly well that wealth-generation requires hard work and sacrifice.

(3) “You are the only one throughout my politics activity being so attached to the system that is so decadent and corrupt”

You essentially worship China, a country which routinely exploits people inside its own borders in ways as bad as any that you can accuse USA, Israel, etc. of exploiting people outside their borders.

(4) “Even . . . president Ford . . . . said: ‘Chaiman Mao . . . was a great and remarkable man’.”

President Gerald Ford was a war-mongering Zionist-apologist who, as you likely know, gave war-mongering Zionist-apologist President Richard Nixon a presidential pardon,[9] after Nixon was impeached for the Watergate scandal.[10] Congratulations: one of USA’s countless Zionist war-mongering puppet presidents complimented your Chinese Jesus, Chairman Mao.

(5) “Karl Popper . . . failed to refute Marx. Why? He was a bourgeois philosopher tied to the reactionary British Crown.”

That is not even a cohesive thought, much less a cogent argument.

(6) “If you really want to know what I mean, I refer you to Mourice Cornfoth’s refutation of popper.”

Cornforth’s “The Open Philosophy and the Open Society”[11] does not refute anything, least of all Popper’s “Open Society and Its Enemies.” It simply tells Marxist what they want to heard. The term is echo-chamber: where every simply surrounds themselves with people with whom they agree — which reinforces their belief that “everyone thinks [insert belief].” If you really want to know what I mean, then I will fully critique Cornforth’s text, point-by-point.

(7) “Genuine knowledge can never be achieved by reading books only. That is why all these academic professors write many books, but can never grasp the the roots of the concept, their writings are all based on their subjective minds and they are highly alien to every day suffering of the oppressed.”

Dinesh D’Souza is not an academic professor, nor was Ayn Rand. The former formed his perspective before, during, and after his escape from the depravity and corruption of socialism in Mumbai, India; the latter formed her perspective before, during, and after her escape from the depravity and corruption of Leninist Russia during the Russia Civil War, after her father’s business was confiscated by Leninists aimed at robbed and murdering their way to a Marxist utopia.

Russ, it seems to me you have not read “On Contradiction” and “On Practkce”, because you have a set mind and in a way prejudice and it is because you have been indoctrinated by Mormon church, you are religous that is why you send me a video clip from a reactionsry opportunist religous demagogue who acts as an agent of the enemy of the people. That is why American people are so religiously naive, even in 21st century. Corporstion can easily justify their crimes againt humanity by training people like that demagogue priest to say what ever he want so freely. You tell me when these elites through their media’s have ever allowed a socialist view (not these damn social democrats) come on main stream and talk about real issues. TVs are only reflecting the interests of capital by having everything to sell and nothing to say, I’m sure you agree with me here.

Just talking about government’s shortcomings does not solve any problem. They have to talk abour the real cause of the misery of tha masses of the world which is 100% caused by monopoly capitalism, multi-national corporations whom are running our Congress, the House and the presidency.

About Mourise Cornforth. I promissed you that you have not read it. As I said to understand Marxism, you have yo go through a long, hard, protracted, tedious process of revolutionary struggles.

Dear Russ, this is an honest statement regarding whither you really want to understand this heavy subjrct or not. You have to read Mao’s articles which are the simplest. Believe me, having a master degree in philosophy did not teach me or make me understand Marxist philosophy. For 10 years with engineering degree, I worked with min. wage to overthrow the puppet Shah’s regime and I was on SAVAK list for over 10 years, only after revolution I was able to go to Iran where after 2 years and after the failure of revolution, I had to scape from the boarder by walking 60 km, to get to Pakistan boarder. Then, in the US I followed a passive and miserable life for a while, when I was 40 yrs. old.

I have quite a few articles about Karl Popper being refutes, short ones too. As I said as lpng as you are attached to god and religion you are not going to understand it, exactly the same way that Henry zkissinger or Dick Chaini would never understand it, why? It is a class question, it is ideological question.

If you don’t now, I became a City employee for 28 years with an aversge salary. Now that I’m rrtired I make little over $4000.00 as a low level engineer (losing two promotions for being non-conformist) plus my $400.00 SS. I barely make the ends meat. Don’t tell me I am part of 1%, my colleagues are making over $12’000.00 and I stiil do not consider them to be 1% elite. They have to be 1000 times more richer to be one of them,

if I did not know.you, I would have said that you are jealous, but I would believe since you have not been working in the economy, you are not aware of what is going on in the industry.

Please give it a little bit tought, that is how we learn from each other by not resisting change. Anything that is scientific, must be respected and in a humble manner to be accepted, that is how we learn and develope our brain for more understandong.

As Lenin says: “Marxism has infinite power”. “Radical is a person who wants to grasp everything from its roots” and “Wihout investigations we have no rights to speak”, “criticism and self-criticis” is the only way to change. Marx also sais: ” Hitherto throughout history, philosophy was meant to interpret the world, now we say philosophy must be used to change the world”. Please read Mao’s short articles.
