pharmacologist-drug-dealerPharmacology, as the study of poisoning people into obedience, is as old as cowardice; and from the beginning until now, those fearful of their own impotence will often enough pretend importance through the impudence of Pharmacology.

The root of pharmacology is the greek word φαρμακεία (pharmakeia), meaning “being too weak and shortsighted to act diligently.” Pharmacologists, both medical and political, surely live up to the credo of credulity that is Pharmacology. Nevertheless, in the end, theirs is no “Midas Touch” but rather an Ashen Tongue, tormenting all whom they effect — especially themselves.
